Stickmanoeuvres are a collective ensemble from Nottingham, who are combining a sound of jazz fusion, hip-hop, spoken word and broken beat, in a unique style.
The band formed in 2020 by drummer David ‘Stickman’ Higgins and guitarist Andy Metcalf, who are the yin and yang foundation to Stickmanoeuvres along with veteran keyboardist Nick Danes and bassist George Butt. Lockdown 2020 forged the group to come together, to express and compose collectively in time of restorative replenishment.
The group collaborated to produce four taster tracks inspired by their deep musical past, which was recorded in May 2022 at mount street studios, Nottingham. The four tracks are narratives of precious moments of emotional flow.
The tracks, produced by Juga-naut a multi-talented hip-hop artist, and the son of Stickman who also features on ‘Making a Move’ and ‘True Love True light’ feat Helen Mc Donald. Helen McDonald is a London based international jazz vocalist.
